Ian Hudghton (Greens/EFA), − The Audiovisual Media Services Directive is an important piece of legislation and this report raises serious issues. Unfortunately, Scotland does not currently have any powers over these media services: the democratically elected Scottish Parliament is denied this competence. A vote for Scottish Independence will however change that and ensure that Scottish broadcasters can fully flourish in the European mainstream.
