Ian Hudghton (Greens/EFA) − I abstained on this report which is a weakening of Parliamentʼs previous position. Our young people need action on jobs, not just warm words. The Scottish Government is showing the way forward in this area. Scottish students get a free education in line with the tradition of the democratic intellect and in contrast to other parts of the UK. The Commission for Developing Scotland's Young Workforce was established by the Scottish Government in January 2013 to bring forward recommendations in this area. However, only with independence will the potential of Scotlandʼs youth be fully released.
