Ian Hudghton (Greens/EFA) ‒ European long-term investment funds will provide a useful tool in boosting Europe's economy and I therefore voted for this report. Importantly, the legislation specifically recognises the importance of investments which have a social benefit, such as education. It is to be hoped that the ELTIFs are used for progressive purposes – and thereby undermine arguments that progressive politics amounts to a 'something for nothing' culture.
