Ian Hudghton (Greens/EFA) Europe is currently facing an unprecedented human tragedy as ever-increasing numbers flee war and oppression to seek asylum in the EU. In the asylum process it is clear that women refugees and asylum seekers experience certain unique hardships – sometimes through officialdom whose systems are geared towards men, sometimes through criminality in the form of sexual abuse and rape. This is an important report, which I supported.
